November 9th San Diego/ Oregon water

Well, friends in San Diego have told me they are seeing great surf time.

We're seeing huge swells (20 plus), but unfortunately tons of wind, road wash outs, houses falling into rivers and the Pacific, and other stuff which makes paddling out not so enticing.

The Nelscott Reef tow in surf contest is now on a yellow status, meaning that the waves are big as you know what, but due to the general crappiness of chop and wind it's most likely a no go for this yellow status condition.

On a personal note, I've gotten out about four times since my daughter came along. Each time was AWESOME. Maybe not because of the conditions, but just for the enjoyment of being in the water and being in a contented, great place in life right now. So, yay for winter! Yay for pictures of Santa, and homemade cookies, and huge waves and chop and wind. Bring it on- winter is awesome!

Me too. Yay for winter. All the more chance we'll get a Straits Day. So far I only got waste-high peelers, but one of these days I'll hit it right on again - either the Staits or one of those phenomenal Seaside days with SE winds, glassy Cove and clean walls.
